Homeschool Learning Pods
Amid so much uncertainty with health and safety, waitlisting, and overcrowding; Learning Nest has developed a learning setting that is optimal for both parent and child. We recognize the desire of parents who want their child to excel academically and also recognize the importance of socialization for development. We also see the potential for primary age students (3-8 years old) in large classroom settings (15-25 students) to be overlooked and lack the exclusive attention they may need in order to be successful. Learning Nest will be offering small group (4 students max) Half/Full-Day Private Instruction in a home pod location.

What is a pod?
Learning Pods came to the forefront at the start of the pandemic. It is a small group of similar aged children having school in one home. This makes for a safer and more intimate learning environment for the children. The need for a new and unique learning environment has become apparent for most children. We have blended social and academic development to make for a learning environment that children and families love! In home private learning with friends and peers is the best of both worlds.
This just may be the right solution for you! This is a very unique and exclusive service that Learning Nest has had a five year success rate with. The development we see in the children with the smaller and more comfortable setting is unmatched. We are ready to connect with new families this year and start meeting those learning goals!
What will my child learn?
Each enrolled student will have an initial one-on-one session to assess where they stand academically and identify their needs and goals. Each day from there on out, will consist of fun learning activities to help them exceed standards in the following domains: Fine Motor Skills, Social & Emotional Development, Approaches to Play and Learning, Communication, Language and Literacy, and Cognitive Development.
At our core, we are dedicated to fostering an engaging and adaptable learning atmosphere that truly sets us a part. Within our intimate small group setting, we prioritize the delivery of a personalized learning journey for each child, seamlessly woven with the indispensable thread of social interaction.
Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our approach, where we seamlessly integrate the principles from several acclaimed curriculums, namely High Scope, Creative, Montessori, and Science of Reading. By drawing inspiration from these diverse educational philosophies, we meticulously craft a comprehensive and enriching learning experience that goes beyond the conventional, ensuring our students thrive both academically and socially. This dynamic blend empowers us to cultivate a holistic educational environment that nurtures curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love for learning.
We mainly draw from The Creative Curriculum and Science of Reading at Learning Nest. The Creative Curriculum focuses on learning for the whole child through the domains listed above. The Creative Curriculum environment supports the development of self-regulation skills and child's ability to function positively. This curriculum meshes well with our program's philosophy with the individualization of instruction to make learning meaningful. The Science of Reading Curriculum emphasizes evidence-based, systematic, and explicit instruction in foundational literacy skills, integrating phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension to support effective reading development.
There will be no more than 4 children enrolled in a pod. This makes for an exceptionally rare ratio of 1:4. We specialize in small group learning, and our philosophy of teaching is rooted in differentiated learning for each child's needs.
